Mark Angelini
FOOD – ECOLOGY – CRAFT
I was born & raised in the suburbs of Detroit, MI where I spent my youth infatuated with cooking, art & design, and other creative endevours. I inherited many talents and skills from my family, including the value of hard work and the urge to understand how things worked from my engineer grandfather, Norm. I learned to be a persistent tinkerer from my inventive and creative (& stubborn) grandfather, Roggerio. And how to work with my hands, and express creativity from my artist, designer, and entrepreneurial father, Mario.
In 2008 I embarked on a lifelong journey to become more self-reliant & resilient.
I have over 14 years experience in the realms of organic farming, regenerative agriculture, homesteading, ecological & permaculture design, landscape design, keyline desgn, edible landscaping, edible forest gardening and more.
I’ve been a lifelong tinkerer, amateur carpenter, and autodidact. Since 2011 I’ve been an avid practitioner of the Sloyd tradition of wood craft, focusing on spoon carving, spring-pole lathe turning and a myriad of other related handcraft.
My passion is the intersection of food, ecology, and craft: how living in connection to these things helps create a rich & fulfilling life.
